Backwater Farms – Ridgeland, MS

When considering a new place for his growing family in 2014 a perfect 26 acre undeveloped track came available in Ridgeland. Leaning away from the urban tighter developments in the past, David looked to the Agrihood type of developments in the country. These developments are designed to integrate gardens or farms allowing these to become the community gathering place. With large acre lots in mind, attention to the character of the land was important; existing ponds, rolling hills, and large trees became part of the charm. A half acre garden anchors the interior of the development with seasonal vegetable crop rotation, fruit trees and vines, and perennial flowers for fresh cutting make this a pleasant place to stroll in the evenings looking for something delightful for dinner.
